Kick off your Beer City Festival weekend right with our new(ish) road race in the heart of Santa Rosa. The Beer City Half is three races: half marathon, 10k and 5k that leave from A Place to Play, near downtown Santa Rosa.
True to the name, these races celebrate that as much as we love wine, Sonoma is BEER COUNTRY. The Beer City Half promises good cheer, music, and beer.
The half marathon is a looped course that circles the sides of Santa Rosa Creek with short loops out the Piner and Peterson Creek Trails. The course also weaves on the sides of the Creek at Stony Point Road. The 10k is also a looped course that includes the Piner Creek loop. The 5k is an out-and-back with a loop that goes out the Piner Creek Trail as well. These are FAST races on a relatively flat course. The only thing to slow you down is the mixed terrain on the light trail instead of the reliably speedy bike path. To see greater detail, click on COURSE at the top of this page.
Finishers receive the special Key to Beer City medal, a soft lifestyle shirt, and a tasting glass. After the race, we’ll sample beer from some of our favorite Beer City partners, including homebrew from the Cotati Home Brew Collective.
